Jordan’s Queen Alia Airport selects Amadeus to modernise operations

Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) in Jordan has selected Spanish IT solutions provider Amadeus to modernise systems before resuming operations.

The airport operator Airport International Group (AIG) selected Amadeus’ Cloud based platform to augment agility and efficiency.

The company has implemented the first phase of the technology, which will help the airport attain maximum efficiency with the integration of airport operations, passenger and baggage services into one platform.

With this, AIG has launched an ‘agile, internet-enabled, model’ that can be scaled according to the passenger demand.

The first phase implementation was completed during the Covid-19 lockdown and the second phase is set to be completed by the end of this year.

In the second phase, Amadeus’ Altea Departure Control, self-service check-in and e-gates will be implemented to make the transit easy for passengers at the airport.

AIG CEO Nicolas Claude said: “Our new technology platform gives us the ability to use our data strategically to improve how we operate and deliver better services to our airline partners and passengers.
